Mommy and Daddy took me to Honey Pot Hill Farm today. It's an apple orchard, but Mommy and Daddy decided I was too young to go picking yet. So we rode on a hay ride, I saw some animals, and we ate cider donuts. Here are the pictures:

Mommy and Daddy took me up to the White Mountains in NH to go camping. We had so much fun! First we went to the Flume Gorge where we met up with Auntie Alicia, Uncle Matt, and Thijs. Daddy carried me in a backpack carrier, and I got a bird's eye view of everything.

These next two pictures are of the campsite. We didn't get to take many pictures there because shortly after this it poured and we had a big thunderstorm. We didn't even get to have s'mores!

The next day we went to a place called Polly's Pancake Parlor. We heard this was the place to go for pancakes. Unfortunately we had to wait for over an HOUR to get seated. Thijs and I hung out in the grass and were very well behaved.

Once we got seated (I was super tired) I occupied my time by shredding napkins.

Mmmm pancakes.

Weekend full of doctor visits! Yay!

On Friday I wasn't feeling like myself and when Mommy took my temperature it was 102.4. She gave me some medicine which helped a bit, but I still wasn't feeling all that well the next day so she and Daddy took me to the pediatrician.

Turns out I have a little ear infection. So they gave me amoxicillin to fix it. Mommy mentioned that Daddy was allergic to penicillin, and they said it can be hereditary but to just keep an eye out for any reaction.

Well after two doses, I was full of hives this morning. Here are some pictures.

This first one is blurry because I was moving around so much.
Here Daddy is holding my head to show the one under my chin so we could show the doctor when we went back.
These next ones all came out after the doctor visit.
This was a HUGE one on my hip.

I didn't seemed bothered by them and they are mostly gone now. The nurse did say there is a 20% chance I could be allergic to the alternative medicine. Let's hope not!

I've grown so much!

June has completely flown by and now we're into July! I've started crawling, or scooting on my bum really, and my personality is really starting to come through. I make funny faces all the time now. Here are some pictures of what I've been up to recently.

Mommy bought me this big frog pool. I really like it since it has been so hot up here recently.

This is me at a backyard kiddie pool playdate. I loved the pool and stayed in there even when my friends got out.

Here is a picture of me on the 4th of July. I got to celebrate it with my friends Sophie and Tyler. We have pictures of them too, but this isn't their blog so we're not posting them for now. You can see I wore red, white, and blue though.

This is a picture of the pina colada pie Mommy made. It was very good. Daddy let me taste it.

This weekend we went up to Alton Bay, NH for cousin Thijs's dedication. I got to play in the lake beforehand. Thijs and I had a lot of fun.

Easter Sunday

I visited both sets of grandparents this past Sunday for Easter.

Grammy gave me a princess chair. I love it! (The pictures are a little grainy because Mommy forgot to change the ISO on her camera)

Mason (Uncle Mikey's dog) wanted to have it, but I told him he can't be a princess.

I made Daddy let me taste his juice. He just let me try the bottle.

Grammy and I had matching outfits on!

I then headed over to Memere and Grandpa's house. I hung out on the couch for a bit.

I sat with Memere for a bit.

Mommy and Daddy got to hold Thijs for a bit. He's so cuddly!

These two are just me being cute!

Uncle Matt tried holding both me and Thijs. He's really strong!

I got to sit on Grandpa's lap after dinner. I kept trying to grab his spoon, so he eventually just let me taste it.

Memere has a dog named Tia. She wasn't sure what to make of me, but I thought her barking was really funny!

Well since my last post was Mommy's movie of my past six months, I figured since I'm now seven months, I should post again.

Here's an update in pictures of what I've been doing the last couple weeks.

Memere, Auntie Alicia, and Thijs came over to visit one day. Memere was going to show us how to sew, but Thijs and I kept everyone so busy that we didn't get much of a lesson.

Mommy took some more pictures of me in my car seat. I'm almost getting too big for it!

In fact, Mommy and Daddy bought me a big girl car seat. They are going to install it soon, but will probably wait until the spring comes since the bundle me keeps me warm. I love the new print! It's called "Cowmooflage"
I love jumping in my Jump & Go! Mommy took an action shot of me the other day.
The Lynches, Grammy and Grampy, and Uncle Mikey came to visit last Sunday. Mommy only got a picture of me with Uncle Mikey. He broke his arm a few weeks ago, but is still able to hold me ok.
Mommy and Daddy are designing a new kitchen for me. They've been going to Home Depot without me and having my grandparents watch me. Well the other day it snowed and no one could come down to watch me, so I joined them in the decision making process. I'm the big boss anyway, so I needed to give the final approval. Mommy says I did really well, and was a good girl the whole two hours. I fell asleep on the way home after all that brainstorming though.

Six months old!

Well really I turned six months old on Feb. 3, but I've been pretty cranky recently and haven't had time to update. Mommy thinks I might be teething, but I'm not gonna let her in on the secret. Hehehe.

I'm sorry to have been away for so long. I have had a couple play dates that have kept me busy and I'm also not sleeping too well at night so I feel somewhat exhausted during the day.

Anyway, Memere has requested some new pictures, so I'll upload some over the past couple months that I haven't been able to.

First are a couple pictures of me being cute.

This one is me modeling a new outfit (one of MANY) I got for Christmas.

We had some really nice days in early January when the temperatures were in the 50s. Mommy took me out for a walk in my new stroller. I LOVE being able to face forward now.

This one is just me and Mommy being silly.

I love playing with my music and singing stage!

Mommy likes to put bows on my head.

Mommy tested out my training sippy cup. I know how to put it in my mouth but didn't really care to get the milk out. She tells me this weekend I will be trying something called "solids".

A couple weeks ago, Gramma babysat me while Mommy and Daddy went out. I gave her a really hard time when she tried to put me down for a nap. She didn't know about all the swaddling and shhing techniques Mommy and Daddy have developed. Here's a picture of how I eventually fell asleep.

This last video is of me in my new duck tub. I usually splash a lot, but this time I was more concerned about sucking on the face cloth.

My first Christmas!

Sorry I haven't been around much. Mommy and Daddy were on vacation with me, and we all enjoyed some relaxing family time.

I thought now that I have a moment I would show you some pictures of my first Christmas. It was a busy time, but I enjoyed it a lot. I was passed around to everyone, but I didn't mind it at all. I'm a big girl now.

First I want to show you how my fat cat, Ellie, tried to fit into a very small box. Silly kitty.

We went to a party up in NH and I got to hang out with my cousin, Lexie. She held me and showed me how to give an awesome fashion show with all the cool clothes she got!

Then on Christmas Eve we went to see Memere and Grandpa. Uncle Matt and Auntie Alicia were there with cousin, Thijs. These are the pictures my mommy took while we were there.

Memere got a HUGE flashlight from Auntie Celeste. She turned it on and we could feel the heat on our faces. It was like the sun! The second picture gives you an idea of the brightness but it didn't come out too clear.

The next day we spent some time at Gramma's and Grampy's in the morning and we all had lunch at Memere's and Grandpa's.

I got to hang out with Uncle Mikey again. He has a cool beard I like to touch.

Gramma gave me my Christmas dress that I wore in the Christmas card we sent out.

A couple days after Christmas I went up to NH to Auntie Alida (Auntie Alicia's twin sister) and Uncle Martin's house. Thijs and I hung out and discussed all the cool things we got!

Invitation Night in Newburyport!

Mommy, Daddy, and I went up to Newburyport for Invitation Night. It's where the stores downtown have free drinks and food and fun sales. Auntie Alicia, Uncle Matt, and Thijs invited us up to go out all together.

Mommy had to put my snow suit on because it was cold out. The pants make me look like I have Popeye legs.

Uncle Matt and Daddy carried Thijs and me in the Baby Bjorns. I got to face outward because I can hold up my head!
At one of the stores there was a scary singing Elvis. I eventually freaked out and Daddy had to take me out of the store.

We took some nice family pictures.

There was a very pretty Christmas tree in the center of town covered with fresh snow. Thijs's blog has a picture of all us in front of it.

The next morning Mommy tried taking pictures of me and Thijs. We weren't too cooperative.

Once we got home, Daddy took a picture of me with my chapped cheeks because I'm just too adorable.

So the popular thing amongst my friends are showing all the Christmas card outtakes. Most should have gotten he Christmas card by now (which Mommy wasn't happy about because one of the photos came out dark and did not look dark on her computer), so I'll show you some of mine.

By the way Mommy took about 75 pictures! I wasn't happy by the end.

As you can see, there were a lot. Actually there were even more, but I didn't want to bore you.

I'm 4 months old!

I turned 4 months old on Dec. 3, and the next day I got to go to the pediatrician for this big event. There was A LOT of waiting. We waited in the waiting room, we waited after the nurse weighed me and measured me. (By the way, I'm 13 lbs 7 oz which is the 50 percentile, 25 inches long which is the 75 percentile, and my head is 16 1/2 inches also the 75 percentile.) Then we waited for the doctor, then we waited for the nurse to come back with the Tylenol, then we waited AGAIN for her to come back with the yucky shots. I had pretty much had it by then but Mommy kept trying to entertain me with my toys. We were there a total of 1 hour and 50 minutes. Luckily I'm fine, although they stuck me with 3 needles that made me really scream.

I didn't feel so hot the next day, so I hung out with my kitty, Ellie. Someday I hope to weigh as much as Ellie, but I don't think I'll ever be as FAT as her.

I got a new bath tub!

My old bath tub was a used one and Mommy and Daddy weren't sure how to use it. It had this bar thingy that they couldn't move, and since I like to splash a lot now, I kept hitting my feet on it and hurting them.

So Mommy got a new one at Target and now I can splash really well in it!

I got to visit with lots of family yesterday. I first saw my Uncle Donny, Aunt Cathy, cousin Renee, cousin Laura, Great Gramma, and Aunt Loraine. I was a very good girl and Aunt Cathy played with me while my Mommy and Daddy ate.

Then Grampy, Gramma, and Uncle Mikey came over to Mommy and Daddy's house where Memere and Grandpa were already helping with Thanksgiving dinner. Here are some pictures of my little family. Look at how cute I am in my green velvet dress!

I sleep in bed with Mommy during that last hours of the night. This morning, though, I surprised Mommy by sticking my hand out of the miracle blanket! She couldn't believe it and couldn't figure out how I did it since it has special flaps that hold my arms down. When she looked closer she noticed I had taken my arm out of my sleeve and slipped it through the whole in the neck! Silly parents underestimate me!

Gramma came and visited!

Gramma had the day off on Monday, so she was able to come down and spend some time with me. We had lots of fun playing with my stuffed toys. Daddy came home in the afternoon so Mommy could go to work. He and Gramma gave me a nice bath in the afternoon.

My Visit to Newburyport

I went to visit Auntie Alicia, Uncle Matt, and cousin Thijs's house today. Memere and Grandpa were there too! I had a great time smiling at everyone. I was so excited that I hardly took any naps today because I didn't want to miss anything. I was so pooped that I slept the whole way back home.

Mommy and Daddy were excited to hold baby Thijs. The don't remember me being this small.

Thijs has more hair than me! Auntie Alicia and Uncle Matt gave him a haircut already because it was growing into a tail in the back. I suggested he should get a mohawk.

Uncle Matt got to hold me as well. He even danced with me while the whole family sang one of my favorite songs. It was so much fun!

While we were up there, we also found out cousin Thijs is a jello jiggle baby too! Mommy got to use her technique on him while she was there. He doesn't need as much shhhing and jiggling as I do, though. I think he just hasn't learned how to milk everything for all it's worth. I tried to give him some pointers, so we'll see if he starts making Auntie Alicia and Uncle Matt work a little harder. Hehehe!

Uncle Matt and Auntie Alicia also have this pet dog named Cali. We really liked meeting one another although I think she wanted to eat my diaper for some reason. ????

Before we left, Mommy wanted to take a picture of Thijs and me in our burritos. Thijs was pooped out, but I was lively and alert as ever. He also still can use the Swaddle Me blanket, but I gave him some tips on how to get out of it!

Thijs slept in his swing as we left and Mommy took a picture of him. Isn't he so cute? I can't wait to grow up with my cousin!

So we have lots to catch up on since Mommy's 'puter crashed. I'm able to use Daddy's work 'puter so I can upload some photos for you.

Last Sunday I was baptized. I got to wear Gramma's Christening gown and Mommy made me a headband. I didn't like sitting behind the tall people because I couldn't see what was going on, so I made Daddy stand with me and walk me around so I could get a better view.

This picture is of the actual baptism. Memere and Grandpa had to stand in for my godparents, Uncle Matt and Aunt Alicia because they were at the hospital having cousin Thijs.
These next two photos are me modeling my new headbands that Mommy made. I saw some online and asked Mommy if I could have them, but she said they were too expensive at $18 each, so she made some for me instead! I think they look just as good!

This is me sitting up with the help of Mommy. I can hold my head up really well now.

These next three are when I met my cousin, Thijs. I don't remember being that little, but Mommy says I was.

Just an update on the 'puter first. It seems Mommy and Daddy are done their research and have ordered a new 'puter. Hopefully it will be here soon.

Next, I've been tagged by my boyfriend, Owen. I'm supposed to tell you about 8 random things about me. Let's see if I can do it.

1. I have headbands with big flowers on them that Mommy made me. Again, I'll post pictures once the new 'puter is here.
2. I had junky eye like Owen did, but it only lasted 2 days. Mommy was very happy she didn't have to deal with it for longer.
3. I have acid reflux and have to take this yummy strawberry medicine twice a day.
4. I'm so good at taking my medicine, that when I had to take the rotavirus oral vaccine the nurse said she had never seen a baby take the medicine so fast and so good. Go me!
5. Mommy calls me a lot of things other than Madeleine: Jello Baby, Big Baby, Silly, Fussbudget, and Kizzy.
6. I have worn away a small patch of hair on the back of my head from moving my head around when I'm lying down.
7. I love watching TV especially the Red Sox.
8. One of my favorite activities to do is sing with Mommy. She's bought me a lot of CDs, so I'll have to do another music review soon.

Still no 'puter

Mommy didn't get a computer for her birthday. Daddy says he's still "researching". He did promise her that she would have one by this weekend though. Right now I have to use this old computer Daddy had from his previous job. I can't upload any pictures at the moment, and I have so many to show you!

Maybe I can do some tonight on Daddy's computer. Check in and see!

I have a new cousin!

My baby cousin Mathijs (Thijs for short) Lucas Tague was born last night right before the Red Sox won another World Series! He was 8.08 lbs and 20.5 inches. I got to meet him today with Mommy and Memere. Mommy forgot her camera though, but Memere took some pictures. He's so little and looks a lot like his Mommy.

In other news, Mommy still hasn't gotten a new computer. Daddy found an old laptop he had from his previous job, so I'm allowed to use it for now, but can't upload pictures. Hopefully Daddy buys Mommy's birthday present soon (especially since her birthday is tomorrow!).

Technical Difficulties

Mommy's computer crashed on Monday so I'm unable to update my blog for the moment. Mommy said she's asking Daddy for a new computer for her birthday. Hopefully he'll get her one so I can continue this blog!

The Swing has been fixed!

My swing broke the other day. The motor just stopped running. So Mommy and Daddy have been pushing it for me to help me fall asleep. They seemed very excited the other day when the new motor came. It works so well now that I slept for over two hours for my morning nap! Usually I only sleep for an hour at most which was an improvement to the 30 minutes I used to do before that.

This store also sells a lot of other great CDs as well such as Lullaby Renditions of Green Day and The Cure. I'm lucky that my Mommy doesn't want to play any silly Barney CDs for me.

I'm 2 months old!

And with that, I got to go to the doctor. Everything was going well, until they started examining me. I was too tired and hungry to deal with all of that, but they would not stop checking me out. I know I'm cute, but I just wanted to eat and nap. And then at the end of it, they stuck THREE needles in me. I screamed so loud, I think I scared the other children in the waiting room. But Mommy nursed me and I felt much better and went to sleep.

The only thing is the stuff they put in me made me feel kinda funny. Daddy keeps sticking this thing in my bum and tells me I have a low-grade fever. I just know it makes me sleepy and Mommy gives me this sweet grape stuff to help the fever go away. I slept from 4pm on Friday to 6am on Saturday. Then from 7:30am to 12:30pm. But at least my fever has gone away now, and hopefully stays away.

Oh but I should tell you I've grown! I'm now a svelte 10lbs 8oz which is the 50th percentile, and 23 1/4 inches which is the 77th percentile. My head, though, is in the 80th percentile! Mommy says I take after Daddy.

Update on the swing

It broke. I don't know what I'm going to do. I need to move while I nap and sleep at night. I guess Mommy and Daddy will have to push it until I am deep asleep. They said they are going to call and try and get it fixed. They seemed very worried about not having it anymore... I don't know why...

I don't like going to sleep. I fight it a lot. Mommy did manage to get a video of me napping in my swing though.

Hear the whooshing sound in the background? That's a white noise machine. It helps quiet the voices in my head.

Some pooping, smiling, swaddling, and fussing

Mommy tried to get a video of me smiling. See I like to lay on my changing mat in the living room and play. I'm usually super smiley, but in the first video I was too busy pooping, and in the second video I was too distracted with the camera.

I also wanted to show you how happy I am in my swaddle. This isn't the crafty Miracle Blanket. This is a flannel Swaddle Me that keeps me better swaddled than the cotton Swaddle Me.

Today I went to visit my great Gramma. I was super fussy when I got there because I got woken up from my nap. After some hard work, my parents got me back to sleep although there was too much excitement for me to see to stay asleep long. I eventually let me great Gramma hold me, though, and this was the one picture Daddy was able to get of her and me.

Here's another technique Daddy has added to his repertoire of jiggling:

As you can see in the video, I have a blanket swaddled around me. See, I'm an active and wiggly baby. I love to move my arms and legs at all times. In fact, I rarely stay still. Because of this, I stay awake too long and then become a "fuss budget". So my parents tried swaddling me in regular old blankets. But please... I'm so wiggly and strong I always get out of them with minutes!

So my parents tried the "Swaddle Me" blanket. But I'm a thin and delicate girl, and this blanket is made for the chubsters of the world. So I could still wiggle and get my hands out of it within minutes again. Here is a picture of me asking my friend, Green Elephant, to help me escape the swaddle.

So now they've resorted to the "Miracle Blanket". And boy! I can't get out of this at all! It actually wraps my arms inside the swaddle. And although I protest at first, it really does help me calm down and sleep much better.

Oh! And there's one other piece of news. Twice this week I have turned over from my back to my tummy. The first time was when I was with Daddy and he was getting my swaddling blanket ready. I was hanging out in my crib, and when he came back to get me I was on my tummy! He couldn't believe it! The next day when I was playing on my activity mat with Mommy, I showed her my new trick as well! She told me I was doing so well! The only thing now, though, is this leaves me on my tummy and I hate being on my tummy! Guess I'll have to start learning to roll back over...

P.S. I love my Mommy and Daddy so much. I've been quite a "fuss budget" over the past eight weeks, but they still love me no matter what and are always finding new ways to help me become less fussy. Mommy posted a new post on her blog about this. Check it out!

Daddy and Madeleine's Big Day!

Mommy went back to work on Monday. She teaches flute to kids a little older than me a couple days a week. I miss her a lot, but it gives me time to spend with my Daddy since he comes home a little earlier so I won't be left alone to destroy the house.

We took some pictures of our big day to show you our adventures.

First, Daddy wanted me to help him with his work he brought home, so I listened very carefully to what he needed me to do.

Then I told him my thoughts about it,

And soon I got right to work so we could start having fun.

When I was done, I told Daddy I was hungry.

So, since he knows Mommy gives me milk, he went out and got me a milkshake.

Afterwards, Daddy showed me various models of lawnmowers. He informed me that these were the coolest things ever, and soon I'll be old enough to use one and be able to CUT GRASS! He made it sound so exciting, I can't wait.

Then Daddy took me out for a walk in my pimped out stroller.

And by then end I was so pooped out, that I went to sleep in my swing.

I finally get my own blog!

Hello! I'm Madeleine! Mommy and Daddy finally let me have my own blog so I can let all my friends and family know about my exciting life.

First let me explain about the title of this blog. See, when I get fussy (which is quite often because I'm a little drama queen), I like it when Mommy or Daddy hold me and jiggle me to sleep. Mommy's friend Lisa said to try jiggling me so my head moves like Jello. Well, lo and behold, I LOVE this! Here's a video showing just how this works.

I'm also quite a gassy girl. I tend to like to gulp down my milk so I end up taking a lot of air. I can't help it, though, I take after my Daddy and like to eat really fast. Mommy took a video of me in my cute giraffe outfit, but unfortunately I passed gas right in the middle of it. Oops!

Even though I'm only seven weeks old now, lots of stuff has been going on in my life. Here are a few pictures to show you just what you've missed.

First I was born.

As you can see, I wasn't too thrilled about being taken out of Mommy. In fact, they had to cut Mommy open because I was so comfy and warm inside her that I didn't even TRY to come out.

This is a picture of how I like to be swaddled.

I love my arms up around my head, but they tend to wake me up when I'm napping, so I need a blanket to help get control of them.

This was my going home outfit. Aren't I so cute?!

This is me sleeping with my Daddy. I pretty much sleep this way every night because I like to feel close to my Mommy and Daddy and unfortunately they can't sleep with me in my pack 'n play.

At first I wasn't too sure about baths, but now I love them. Here's a picture of me lounging in my tub.

I also like to watch Mommy make faces and talk to me. I especially love when she sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" song. Here's me reacting to when the sun came out.

As you can see, I love to smile now. Here's one more of me being adorable!
